Artist Biography
Edward Wadsworth (1889-1949),
English
Edward Wadsworth was born on the 29th October 1889 in Clekheaton,
Yorkshire, the son of a wealthy worsted spinning magnate. Studied
engineering at Munich 1906 but became more interested in painting,
attending the Knirr School in his spare time. On returning to England went
to Bradford School of Art, where he gained a scholarship to the Slade
School.Studied at the Slade 1908-12.
